Savouring Sweetness by Rebecca van Gennip

Rebecca van Gennip (b.2001) is a Canadian oil painter based in Georgina, Ontario. She completed her Bachelor of Fine Art Honours degree at Queen’s University, with a Major in Visual Art and a Minor in Art History in 2023.

Her paintings explore navigating loss through spaces of "home". Home is a place that represents familiarity, allows vulnerability, and houses the fragility of life; reflected in her timeless, muted palette, delicate subject matter, and soulful, glowing scenes.

Her Dutch heritage continues to inform a specialized "historical" style, but to reinvent it in contemporary ways.
