Collection: Elena Dinissuk

Elena Dinissuk is a self-taught artist, who works out of her home studio in Mississauga, Ontario. Dinissuk has always felt like an artistic soul; she took to painting later in life. Dinissuk is constantly working on perfecting her technique and pushing her creative boundaries. Elena’s main medium is acrylic, which she likes due to its vibrancy and versatility.

Dinissuk's works are created by using acrylic gel and modeling paste to add opaque and transparent layers, as well as texture, to vague shapes and indistinct lines. Dinissuk describes her style is semiabstract impressionism; she transforms realism by palette knife sometimes softened by brush. Her style is distinct and memorable, with paintings containing movement, flow, and positive energy.

Elena enjoys painting by palette knife, and teaches her technique to art schools when invited.

"I invite viewers to explore my work, and see their own realities reflected in my abstract pieces. Landscapes that I see are transformed in my mind, and brought to life on canvas. I believe my abstract works elicit joyful feelings in viewers. For me, painting abstractly is an instinctive process that uncovers wonders: from marine depths and forest wanderings to fantasy scenes."
