Collection: Christina Margaretha
Christina Margaretha is a Canadian visual artist who is based in East Gwillimbury, Ontario. She graduated from York University, Toronto with her Bachelor of Fine Arts, Honours degree in 2002. Margaretha has a broad range of artistic experience including painting, stained-glass, and lens-based art. At present, she primarily works in photography and her art has been exhibited in solo and group shows across Ontario. Margaretha’s experience as a mother sparked a journey of self-discovery and healing in her life, which is aided by her self-portrait work. She stages and documents woman-centered actions in nature, often in collaboration with her daughter, that speak to her experience of womanhood and maternal relationships. These dramatic portrayals tell stories of healing between self and inner child, mother to daughter, and woman to woman.
