Stoneground - Ultramarine Rose (Synthetic - Half Pan)

Ultramarine Rose is a non-toxic, lightfast, cool bubblegum pink, useful in a variety of applications. Warmer in colour than Ultramarine Violet, but significantly cooler than Quinacridone Magenta, Ultramarine Rose is the perfect cool pink for any artist’s palette.

Artist Notes: Ultramarine Rose shines on its own in florals, but can be added to Raw Umber or Prussian Blue for tones perfect for painting lilacs. Ultramarine Rose shines when it is combined with yellows (from Nickel Titanium Yellow to India Yellow) to create golden hues effective for grasses and landscapes. Combine with Phthalo Green Blue Shade for interesting greys.

Paint Maker’s Notes: Ultramarine Rose is the end result of processing Ultramarine Blue pigment with a combination of acid, heat, and oxidization over a period of time. Ultramarine Blue changes to Ultramarine Violet pigment, and Ultramarine Violet is again treated and left for a period of time to become Ultramarine Rose.
