Named after the Roman god of war, Mars pigments were created at the end of the 18th century. These these pigments were given the generic name 'Mars', and are synthetic iron oxide pigments.
Mars Orange is a dark valued earthy orange, and is useful in a variety of watercolour applications. Mix it with Ultramarine Blue to create a range of earthy greys.
