Kate Greenway is an educator, author, and artist who works in watercolour, mixed media collage, and glass – stained, fused and mosaic – sometimes blurring the distinction between mediums.

Mimosa Anthem" serves as tribute to the ability to smash stereotypes of what women should look like, act like, or aspire to. The mimosa is the official flower of International Women’s Day. Despite its delicate appearance, it belies expectations, blooming while winter lingers, appropriate as a symbol of women’s strength and resilience. Musical phrases from empowering anthems about women and change are interspersed throughout, from Helen Reddy’s iconic “I am Woman” to “Most Girls” by Hailee Steinfeld, Beyonce’s “Flawless,” among others. It is framed in poplar, selected for its symbolism as a tree of transformation and endurance.
