Owner Vincent Deshaies started KAMA PIGMENTS in 1996 in a Montreal basement apartment with very modest means but an ambitious mission: to make raw materials available (especially the dry pigments) as well as the knowledge necessary to the artists to make their own paints and mediums.

KAMA Pigments has a line of high-quality ready-made visual arts products that 100% developed and manufactured in Montreal, Canada.  These products include: oil paints, oil sticks, graphite sticks, encaustic paints, encaustic monotype crayons and oil painting mediums and varnishes.  Kama through their artistic and scientific expertise, has proudly come to be recognized as an authority on materials relating to visual and decorative arts, restoration, gilding, and wood finishing.
