JudyBlue Anderson's landscape artworks are based on a practice of walking, observing, plein air sketches and finally loose studio works. The Canadian Shield, rugged shorelines and dense swamps are her go-to reference. These environments are integral characters in her art. She believes our bond with nature is deep and aims to express this symbiosis, offering viewers a window into the serene yet vibrant essence of untouched landscapes. Her work is constantly expanding and evolving.
Anderson's abstract exploration is inspired by our intrinsic relationship with the land and sea. Employing a minimalist acrylic palette, she uses line, form, and shape to layer colours and patterns, creating depth and movement within her works. Tales of shipwrecks, previous years of scuba diving and a love of water give her inspiration.
