Collection: Jean Parker
Jean Parker is a Canadian painter, who lives and paints in Alberta and PEI. She is inspired to paint the beauty that the world gives us through the INTERPLAY of the elements. It is in the collision of elements: such as water, wind and rock; atmosphere and light; cold and heat that she finds the Aha moments in nature. She brings to life these moments by building layers, playing with light and using bold colours and brushstrokes.
She selects oil, acrylic, or mixed media as the medium depending on how she is telling the story in the painting. Her style of painting sits in the loose representational and abstract space. As well as exploring this INTERPLAY in nature, she is also curious about how it plays out in humans. As a result she is currently building a body of work of abstracted dancers to explore the INTERPLAY of strength and grace in dance.
Jean is an an Emerging Artist who shifted three years ago from taking workshops to now painting her take on the world. She is constantly learning and working with multiple Master mentors to push her creativity and her art. Jean’s future goals as an artist are to keep expanding her abilities, pushing her creativity and sharing her art.
