Leah Olsen-Kent’s artistry encapsulates a deep connection to the natural world, emphasizing the serenity and quietude that nature can offer. Her technique involves using spray paint, oil paint, and stencils created from nature’s objects to create detailed images on wood panels or canvases. By starting with a monochromatic base and building layers to add depth and contrast, Leah’s paintings become a visual exploration of the delicate play of light and shadow found in the natural environment. Her work resonates with the minimalist aesthetic, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the subtle beauty and peaceful solitude of nature. Leah’s approach focuses on capturing the essence of moments that might otherwise go unnoticed in the chaos of daily life. The monochromatic and limited colour palettes in her paintings add a sense of calm and introspection, allowing observers to reflect on their own feelings and memories as they interact with her art.

Leah works out of her home studio in Cambridge, Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Arts from the Ontario College of Art and Design in Toronto.
