Stoneground - Cobalt Blue Hue (Synthetic - Half Pan)

This clean, blue hue was created without the use of pigments containing cobalt.

Artist Notes: A vibrant, clean blue, Cobalt Blue Hue is cooler than Ultramarine Blue, and warmer than Prussian Blue. Historically this hue has been promoted for use in skies. It mixes well with other hues, and creates lovely purples when combined with Alizarin Crimson Hue or Quinacridone Red.

Paint Maker’s Notes: The first recorded use of the name Cobalt Blue was in 1777. Its discovery led to the explosion of bright blue found in art across western Europe during the 19th century.
