Voices of HG: Collaborative Art Project Submission Form

Voices of HG is a space for collective healing, validation, and awareness. We believe every single story matters. We invite anyone who has been impacted by HG, including survivors, partners, children, and caregivers, to contribute to a massive, collaborative gallery installation headed by panelist and artist Steph Law. If you are submitting to the juried exhibition and also want to contribute to our community installation, we invite you to lend your hand.

Participation requires no formal art experience, and can be done right from your kitchen table. Every submission that respects the theme of the show and has a connection to the HG experience will be accepted and included.

Participation Details:

• Cost: Completely Free.
• Limit: One (1) hand submission per person to ensure every individual voice carries its own distinct weight.
• Eligibility: Anyone impacted by HG (survivors, family members, and caregivers).

How to Participate: Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Trace Your Hand: Place your hand on any paper or creative surface of your choice (construction paper, lined journals, canvas paper, or plain white cardstock are all welcome). Ensure the total surface size is no larger than a standard sheet of paper (8.5” x 11”). Trace your outline.
2. Fill the Silhouette: Use the inside of your handprint to express your journey. Fill it with drawings, doodles, poetry, written words, collage, paint, or any medium that feels right to you. (Don't worry about making the borders perfect. We will handle cutting them out, leaving a gentle border around your design if needed.)
3. Choose Your Credit & Location: On the submission form, you can choose exactly how much personal information you feel comfortable sharing on our collaborative artist list:

• Name Details: You can share your First Name & Last Initial (e.g., Sarah M.) or choose to remain Completely Anonymous.
• Location Details: You can choose how specific you want to be with your location, or simply list your country (e.g., Uxbridge, ON, or Edmonton, or Manitoba, or just Canada).

4. Add a Voice (Optional): You are welcome to submit a 1-2 sentence personal reflection or quote alongside your digital file to provide context to your piece. This is entirely optional.
5. Capture & Upload: Take a clear photograph or flatbed scan of your page in bright, even lighting, and upload it to the Preston Gallery submission portal below.

What Happens Next? Once received, we will physically print, meticulously cut out your hand silhouette, and seamlessly assemble it alongside many others into a striking, unified installation piece that will be displayed at Preston Gallery for the duration of the show. Your individual hand will become part of a larger collective voice.
