Silent Witness by Alexandra Bhatia

With over 30 years of experience as a secondary school art educator, Alex has dedicated her life to inspiring creativity in others while cultivating her own artistic voice.

Teaching has always been an integral part of her creative journey, as she believes in the transformative power of artistic expression—not only as a personal outlet but as a way to engage with the world. Deeply influenced by the natural world, her work, which primarily consists of mixed media, captures the textures, colours, and organic rhythms of landscapes, flora, and fauna.

Alex is a member of the Ontario Art Education Association (OAEA) and the Society of York Region Artists (SOYRA) and has had her work exhibited in multiple art exhibitions, in which she has won numerous awards. She has also served as a juror for the East Gwillimbury Garden Club Photography Contest and contributed to Ontario Arts curriculum writing.
