Inner Child no. 2 by David Mutton

I have explored a variety of subject matter including still lifes, figures, and landscapes. When approaching each subject, my aim is to stay true to the expression of the forms before me while imbuing them with my own point of view. 

My work is very textural. I enjoy a variety of mark-making using a combination of tools; from traditional brushes and charcoal, to found objects like dental picks and razor blades. My training in realism has helped me to maintain control of my tools and allow for a broader range of technique. The result is a rich tactile quality that explores different facets of our human condition, from joy to fear, in hopes of discovering something greater than ourselves." - Dave Mutton
