Collection: Rénald Gauthier

From the Eastern Townships of Quebec, surrounded by wide open spaces, rivers, lakes and mountains, nature has always been a source of inspiration and introspection for Rénald Gauthier.

From his first coloured pencils to painting with a palette knife, Rénald explored a panoply of mediums that has led him through this fascinating world of creation.

In nature, light, colours, smells, sounds and silences are all sources of well-being and inspiration that motivate the realization of Gauthier's works. The observation of animals and humans led him to return to sculpture for 4 years.

Since his first group exhibitions, through the most prestigious Symposiums in Quebec, Gauthier's notoriety has led him to present his works outside the country, notably in the United States, France and Belgium.

Four years ago, Gauthier returned to clay sculpture and with the interest and success he had gained though his career.  This new medium allows Gauthier to satisfy a tangible need for the strong three dimensions of previous experiences with his work with oil and palette knife on canvas.
